Walking into BAHARAT at Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain is like visiting an old friend’s home and being welcomed with the same warm feeling. LAYAL EL MAHMOUD re-visits the popular dining destination’s awardwinning Friday Sweetest Brunch to satisfy her sweet-tooth.

Baharat at Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain is the restaurant to target for a warm and delicious Friday brunch with your family or close friends. Comforting flavours meet every taste at the company of Latino melodies. A friendly atmosphere dominates the scene at the rather traditionally modern space with wooden tables and armchairs in dark tones highlighting the lightened ceiling and the marble floor in light brown, while the light chiffon curtains add a touch of tenderness like a happy dream.

The buffet is compact yet generous in quality and this is a plus point; I highly appreciate the structured choices and lack of wastage. However, every dish is refreshed adequately – and also tastes great.

Most of the cold mezza appetisers and salads are served in individual portions unlike most buffets around the island. Choices from Hummus and Tabbouleh to Beetroot concoctions and Mujadara are all perfectly prepared. You can assemble your own salad if you wish as well with an array of vinaigrettes to choose from. Cold cuts are on the menu too and we revel in them.
Soups, grilled meat and chicken are bountiful and let me tell you, that grilled kofta is the tastiest I have ever had at a brunch. Roasts like lamb and duck amidst salmon are some of the creations you may feast upon in addition to a variety of delicious main course meals.

The Indian corner is always pleasant with the popular biryani rice, dal, butter chicken and more. And no buffet is complete without a sushi bar, right? Live stations dedicated to making you the perfect pasta dish, Asian noodles and stir-fry are highly recommended.

Should you fancy some freshly grilled prawns and lobsters, or steamed clams and mussels in a rich creamy sauce, do nothing but ask the experienced and talented chef in charge and he will happily satisfy your cravings.

Little ones will be happy in their special entertaining corner as well with a kids section that might actually get visited often by adults in the lookout for a crispy chicken strip or a homemade mini burger for a change.

What could be more satisfying than enjoying your food of choice to the sound of lively melodies presented by a magnificent Colombian Duo? Note down your favourite song if you wish to make a request the next time you’re there.

Anyone mention dessert? At Baharat, there are more than 100 choices of dessert for you to indulge. Cakes and macaroons to puddings and Um Ali not to mention fresh crepes and an ice cream station. Fresh fruits and a seductive chocolate fountain make an appearance too. After all, I have always said that if you want do dessert, do it right.

Book your table for this coming Friday and live the Sweetest Brunch experience because you deserve a worthy break after a fruitful week at work… and so does your sweet tooth.
