Roberto Coin combines technological prowess with time-honoured craftsmanship to create the stunning Love in Verona collection.
Having previously fashioned exquisite collections dedicated to the beauty of Italian cities such as Portofino, Capri, Rome and Venice, fine jewellery brand Roberto Coin chose another Italian city as inspiration for their jewels – Verona.
The elegant Love in Verona collection is part of an ongoing thread that connects Roberto Coin’s jewellery to Italy’s most iconic cities. The various pieces display a minimal and contemporary look yet hold a soul as ancient as eternal love.
Verona has long been regarded as the city of lovers, especially as it set the stage for one of literature’s most famous love stories, Romeo and Juliet. It is also home to the Juliet Club, which has existed since 1930. It manages the thousands of love letters to Juliet that arrive from every corner of the world. Every day, a group of women gather to read and answer the love letters and then conserve them in a precious archive, all in the name of love and the city of Verona.
The jewels in the collection are made with three colours of gold, in polished and satin finishes, to wear together. The design reintroduces the four-petal diamond flower that has been the centre of other lines. The constant repetition of the flower over the entire surface of the jewels is an aesthetic evocation of the architectural structure of the Arena of Verona, one of the city’s emblems.
In a collection rich in symbols, Roberto Coin has chosen to express his craftsmanship with a strongly contemporary, minimal look. The gold is worked to obtain an ultra-glossy effect, and a special alloy is used to make it highly resistant.
Moreover, every diamond is set by hand with a microscope. The clasp on each bracelet in the collection is designed with a hidden mechanism that guarantees maximum safety while blending with the clean lines of the silhouette.
Roberto Coin’s collections are available at Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BJC).
