Ultimate Skin Restoration

Our beauty pages went a bit further this month, calling for a more in-depth facial and Fernanda Langhammer was not afraid (maybe a little) to answer. She headed to Liva Skin and Sculpt Clinic for a rejuvenated complexion.

Chasing a healthier lifestyle and fighting signs of ageing has become a big part of my life lately. I guess growing older has made me wiser, but also very aware that now is the time to take care of myself with a comprehensive beauty routine (morning and evening, no excuses) and good habits – setting priorities is a good start. However, even though I have been more conscious about my diet, I am exercising more and follow all the steps of a proper skincare routine, I’ve noticed that this is not enough anymore. I had been considering more invasive procedures for a while and that’s when Liva Skin and Sculpt Clinic entered my life.

Located at Segaya Walk, an area known for the many hospitals and clinics, Liva’s space is on the first floor. The clinic is beautifully decorated, with an expansive reception area featuring circular sofas (the ultimate trend in interior design), painted in beige with golden and black accents. The floor is covered in Carrara-style tiles while plants and sculptures give a touch of contemporary flair. It smelled really nice as well, giving me a welcoming, chic vibe. I was very pleased with my first impression.

I have to mention that my journey at Liva started before I stepped into the physical space. I was asked to send a close-up video of my face, and I then scheduled a video call with Dr Paridhi and Dr Emil Engibarian to discuss my main concerns and goals. The talk was a great start, helping me understand the therapies available and what I was comfortable with. I have done many facial treatments in spas before, but they were all superficial; it was going to be my very first time doing something more invasive and they made sure I was feeling sure about what to pick and agreed that starting slowly was the best option.

So when I arrived at Liva for my appointment, we already had an idea of what we would do. After my vital signs were checked by Jane, the nurse who accompanied me throughout my time at the clinic, I had an in-person consultation with Dr Emil. He is a specialist Plastic Surgeon, and after looking at my bare face, we confirmed the treatments I would receive as a first-timer: Nanopore and Skin Booster. We also discussed future interventions, but that’s a story for the future.

I then met Dr Alaa Aljassas, who was in charge of performing my treatments that day. To discover which areas needed more attention, she took pictures of my face with a device called LifeViz. The 3D imaging equipment provides detailed skin analysis, supports planning and enables effective tracking of improvements over time. With the pictures, we could focus on my most significant issues – hydration, pigmentation and enlarged pores in specific areas. With that information, Dr Alaa chose the best booster for me, Neofound EXO.

Neofound Bio Stimulation (skin booster) is a solution for those who want to improve the quality of their skin, without going down the route of fillers or anti-wrinkle injections, and achieve a more natural result. There are many of them for different purposes, such as tackling wrinkles, pigmentation, collagen boosting or lightening. They all deliver highperformance active ingredients deep into the dermis, ensuring maximum effectiveness. EXO is indicated for hydration, aiming to increase elasticity and improve the firmness and consistency of the complexion. The formula is based on hyaluronic acids with different molecular weights, amino acids, antioxidants, peptides and synthetic exosomes.

She also said she would combine the injectables with Nanopore Microneedling, a non-invasive aesthetic medical technology with many benefits, such as reducing wrinkles and expression lines, delaying skin ageing and reducing acne scarring and pigmentation. I have to say, I wasn’t really worried about the Nanopore, as it’s a device composed of thin needles that open microchannels in the skin to help the booster penetrate the complexion and create minor trauma that increases collagen production. But the injectables, oh boy!

Jane asked me about pain tolerance, which in my case is very low, so she didn’t hold back on the numbing cream and I am very thankful for that. After applying the cream, we waited a while until my face was no longer as sensitive. Dr Alaa then started using the injections around my eye and, I guess because I was terrified of the pain, they prepared me so well (plus Dr Alaa’s really light hand), I didn’t feel much – I even asked if she had done anything – I was impressed that all my fears were basically unfounded. I have to say that some areas, such as the cheeks, were quite painful, but for someone expecting a session of pure pain, this was doable, and I will most probably come back for more sessions to achieve better results. According to Dr Alaa, having this treatment at least once a month will deliver incredible effects. I can already feel my face lifted and I look rested, as if I had an excellent night’s sleep, but I will have a better idea after a week – it’s been only three days since I had the treatment done, so I am looking forward to how my skin will look in a few days.

Post-treatment is all about avoiding the sun and just moisturising the skin for a week – a break in my disciplined beauty routine. I had no side effects and my skin already looks plumper and refreshed, leaving me quite pleased. I am already planning my next visit. I believe I’ve become hooked on this more effective skincare regimen. If you are just like me, a bit worried about taking your beauty game a step further, at Liva you will find really caring professionals who will listen to you and deliver what you need – and, more importantly, what you want.
