Trends that Define Autumn and Winter 2025

With the cold season just around the corner (for most northern hemisphere
countries, for us in the Middle East, the weather will take some time to realise it needs to chill), brands are starting to switch to their new creations. Find out the styles that we are rooting for!

By now, we have to admit it: everyone is a bit done with summer in this part of the world. Outdoor activities and gatherings might take a little time to get back into, but there’s no reason we can’t start preparing—starting with our wardrobes.

The autumn and winter trends are here, and we can’t wait to start wearing them. As in every cold season, neutral shades take center stage: black, grey, and brown (with brown continuing to stand out) dominate the scene. But some brands have added pops of color here and there, bringing a bit of fun to the darker days.

A standout clothing item this season is the skirt. Midi and pencil styles are everywhere, quickly becoming must-haves. Long coats and capes are among the season’s favourite warmers, and leather makes its expected, strong appearance. Other trends to embrace include checks, flowy silhouettes, coordinated sets, lace trims, jockey-inspired designs, deep purple shades, and, of course, sequins—because a little sparkle is what every girl needs to feel pretty.

Accessories are just as exciting. While boots are an obvious choice, a styling trick that caught our eye is the “show-off-your-socks” trend. Yes, winter foot warmers peeking out of your shoes are officially in style! Slouchy, fluffy bags are this season’s go-to carriers, while the serious look gets a stylish upgrade with ties and brooches.

The industry itself is evolving as well. Donatella Versace waved goodbye to her role as Versace’s Creative Director with her AW2025 collection, marking the end of an era. Overall, the vibe of this season is about intriguing designs and structured silhouettes that strike a perfect balance—innovative fashion that remains grounded.

New seasons are exciting, offering a chance to rethink not only our style but also ourselves. Fashion is the ultimate form of self-expression: it lets us communicate our personalities without saying a word, simply by wearing pieces we love.

CAPED CRUSADER

Long coats are always the best way to keep warm during winter. However, in this corner of the globe, they aren’t really needed and opting for something easy to throw over outfits is the key to a stylish yet warm look. Enter capes to solve this equation. They are warm enough and add an edgy element. Check out Carolina Herrera and Louis Vuitton’s collections.

RIDING STYLE

The equestrian universe is a passion in this part of the world, with horse riding a popular hobby amongst locals and expats, which might help this trend take off in the region. Style your riding gear into your looks, take inspiration from Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana for the perfect marriage between this sport and fashion.

TOWN AND COUNTRY CHIC

Checks and plaids are the core of this trend, reflecting the stylish sophistication found in the mansions on the outskirts of English or French cities. It combines countryside vibes with the metropolis in a blend that gives you good girl vibes with a bold attitude. Burberry and Zimmermann embrace the trend with a rural-chic approach.

GET SERIOUS

It is no novelty that tailoring often flirts with autumn and winter collections, sometimes appearing subtly and sometimes going full-on. This season, we noticed a widespread use of one accessory that is predominant in the men’s dress code: the tie. You can style it with a skirt, as seen at Brunello Cucinelli, or opt for a complete menswear look, as at Loro Piana.

PLUM GALORE

Dark tones of all shades in the colour wheel are a good match for winter outfits, but deep purple has shown its dominance. Painting dresses and suits in this hue exudes regality and sophistication – a smart way to elevate your style game. McQueen and TOM FORD bring out pure glamour with their grape-like looks.

INVOLVED IN LACE

When we think of cold days, heavy and warm fabrics come to mind, such as velvet and wool, but an unexpected textile has joined the club: lace. With its soft and delicate texture, it has been featured in many collections, playing as a secondary element in trims and details. We love Saint Laurent’s dramatic dresses and the black and white compositions.

SHOES + SOCKS

Young girls usually gravitate towards this kind of style, but this season, the concept seems to have conquered a more elegant touch. We loved boots with socks that popped out, covering the knees, as seen at Zimmermann and Louis Vuitton. However, Brunello Cucinelli and MARNI’s styling of pumps with long socks is also quite a look.

NEXT LEVEL SEQUINS

We don’t have to wait till party season to shine in sequins. Long dresses and suits are adorned with these shiny, diskshaped ornaments for a refreshing twist. You won’t go grocery shopping wearing them, but they can easily be your choice for a dinner or even a girls’ night out. We loved Celine and Rabanne’s take on the trend.

FLUFFY CARRIER

Cold days are perfect for snuggling and your handbag will be the subject of it. Soft and fuzzy bags in an array of shades can be the eye-catching element for those days when you are not feeling like wearing fancy frocks but still want to stand out in the crowd. We’ve got our eyes on Fendi and Moschino styles.

PIN ON

Accessories are small details that can make a significant difference to a look. Extra-large brooches are in vogue this season as an element that upgrades boring looks. Inspired by nature, these decorative items are shaped like flowers and twigs and can be placed on lapels or serve as a 3D detail on tops. Carolina Herrera mastered the concept.
