Minimally elegant was the first thing that came to my mind as the car approached the entrance of the refreshingly simple structure, which actually adopts the look of a residence building.
As we received the friendliest welcome from the valet, a smile was drawn to our lips and refused to fade even after we left.
On the other side of the revolving door, the natural light warmed the space and the colour palette of cream and indigo blue with white-washed wood, were pleasant to the eye. A brilliant choice of colours that perfectly complemented the green of the olive trees that bring the space to life. And a beautiful contradiction to the dried flowers used to decorate the tables. From this moment on, the five-star treatment is all you get.
At Origins restaurant, I found the staff very attentive and hospitable. Cannot but mention the classy choice of outfit that matches the colour scheme of the restaurant. A very fresh look ready to be at your service. I was impressed when the lovely waiter offered me a small spoon for my tabbouleh jar without me asking… Well done team V!
The buffet follows the ‘beautiful inside out’ concept. None of the dishes we tried failed to meet my expectations. Attractive plating, quality ingredients and perfect execution, all leading to tasty, well-balanced flavours across the board. An open kitchen makes the perfect backdrop to the creatively laid out counters. Our appetites were revived and our taste buds alert.
Whatever your personal taste, you will find your fix among the different stations – from the cold seafood and freshly sliced sashimi station to the extensive salad station to the warm appetisers, namely a tangy spinach fatayer, cheese samosa and meat Kibbeh. Take my word for it and make a long stop in front of the chicken satay plate with that deep orange, spicy sauce… Big like!
Whether you start your meal with it or save it to the end, don’t forget to visit the cheese counter and bread stand! We fell more than a little in love. The main course options are fairly diverse. While my daughter and partner enjoyed the flavorful beef roast with earthy mushroom sauce and potatoes, as well as the delicious short ribs, I savoured every single mouthful of the beef biryani and butter chicken. These are familiar, comforting dishes and were done so very well. Fish is also on the menu and the beef stew sounds just right with the chill in the weather.
Pair it all with the right beverage, and you will find yourself mesmerised at the best culinary party ever. This is my kind of Friday!
With a cup of coffee or tea, treat yourself and your companions to a wide selection of sweet creations all perfectly executed. Crème Brûlée, cheesecake, Pâte à Choux, mille-feuille, Galette du Roi, fruit tart… so many delicious little sweet temptations.
The chosen live entertainment is an absolute success; you know it when you start singing along or dancing in your seat. It is not too loud, yet you cannot ignore it. We loved the atmosphere! And with floor to ceiling windows, your eyes meet the sea for a perfect chillout afternoon.
