CH Carolina Herrera added a new bag to its vast collection inspired by an essential accessory when horse riding.
The equestrian world is a frequent source of inspiration for the House of Herrera, a fascination that started with a young Carolina and her passion for horses and all that surrounds them. With this in mind, CH Carolina Herrera created the Fusta Bag.
The riding crop or fusta (in Spanish) is an element that stands out for its symbolism. The accessory connects the rider and the horse as an instrument of communication. The Fusta Bag borrows the craftsmanship and expertise of saddlery – the centuries-old art of working leather to make all kinds of equestrian accessories. However, the riding crop is the focal point around which the bag has been created.
The aesthetics can be spotted in details such as the uniform, four-millimetre stitching or the choice of the house’s exclusive Sequoia doubleface leather, which stands out for its lightness and flexibility. The bag comes in three different versions: shopping, hobo and crossbody. The handles are a distinguishing feature to which the artisans have devoted many hours of research to achieve an accurate result. They maintained the original aesthetics of the crop and the practical aspect required for its use. The Fusta Bag fuses tradition with a contemporary design linked to one of the most elegant sports in the world.
