The new AIGNER Spring/Summer 2021 “Mother Nature” collection embodies the closeness to nature and one ‘s own roots.
Vintage designs meet modern shapes and colours. The colour Green becomes a representative of this feeling and conveys strength, joy and optimism. The shades range from delicate Moss Green to strong Matcha Green. They are accompanied by earthy brown tones such as Terra Brown or Walnut Brown. Honest natural materials such as leather, jute and straw dominate the selection of materials of the collection and focus on sustainability and the conscious use of precious resources.
Craft and tradition in particular play an important role in this context: drawing inspiration from pieces from the company archive, techniques and ideas can be adopted in the present day and combined with modern methods to create a new kind of craftsmanship.
The ALEXIS Bag, which is inspired by a shaving case from the AIGNER archives, becomes a trendy piece with its fresh colours. The variants come in fine grain leather in the colours ‘Black’, ‘Terra Brown’ or in eye-catching ‘Bellflower Blue’, as well as in the special variants made from soft top-grain leather with logo stitching in ‘Black’, ‘Burgundy’ or ‘Moss Green’.
The Celia series is characterised by a collection of three models comprised of shapes from the history of AIGNER: a handbag, a shoulder bag and a variant in the classic “baguette” shape. The highlight is always the striking metal element made from brushed metal with a brass finish. This was inspired by a belt buckle from the 1990s, updated with an A logo. The other metal elements with a vintage character also embody the heritage concept. In this series, tradition is reinterpreted in a modern way.
The highlights of the trendy Livia series are the ruched and ruffled handles or shoulder straps, which, as a detail found throughout the series, give the simple, classic bag an original character – creating a great contrast between the clean, smooth surface of the bag and the extraordinary texture of the handles. The boxy, fanned shape of the large and small handbag and the crossbody model in two sizes gains a striking decorative element thanks to the distinctive golden fastening in the shape of a round A logo.
