Diving in Time

Oris launches two new watches that honour its legacy while incorporating modern design elements.

Oris has long been celebrated for its commitment to producing watches that balance robust functionality with timeless design. Known for its Swiss craftsmanship and innovative engineering, the brand has made a name for itself in the world of diving watches. This season, it introduces two new additions to its celebrated collections: the Divers Sixty-Five Date and the Divers Date, both of which reflect the brand’s dedication to quality and nostalgia for past eras.

Divers Sixty-Five Date Cotton Candy “White Star”

This new timepiece brings a refreshing twist to the esteemed Divers SixtyFive Date collection. Inspired by the vibrancy of the original Cotton Candy series, this model stands out with its bright white dial. The design pays homage to the retro aesthetic of the 1960s, balancing modernity with vintage appeal.

Featuring a 38mm multi-piece bronze case and a unidirectional rotating bezel, both crafted to enhance durability. The use of bronze not only speaks to Oris’s industrial heritage but also means that the watch will develop a unique patina over time, making each piece distinctly individual. The white dial provides a striking contrast to the warm bronze tones, ensuring clarity and readability with luminous hands and hour markers. Equipped with automatic movement, this model includes a date function, while its water resistance of up to 100 metres makes it suitable for both diving and winter sports. With its playful yet advanced design, it captures the essence of adventure, inviting wearers to enjoy life to the fullest.

Divers Date

To celebrate 60 years of its iconic dive watch, Oris reimagines its classic model in the new Divers Date collection. First released in 1965, the original watch embodied the spirit of a decade marked by adventure and innovation, with scuba diving culture burgeoning in popularity. The latest Divers Date series honours this legacy, retaining the vintage feel of the 1965 model while introducing thoughtful upgrades for a modern audience.

This new edition includes a more substantial silhouette, improved water resistance to 200 metres and a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel that enhances durability. Available in black, blue and beige dials, the collection’s refined aesthetic takes inspiration from the industrial chic of the era. Custom typeface and bevelled hour markers bring additional clarity, allowing the watch to remain practical without compromising style. Each timepiece is powered by the Oris Calibre 733 automatic movement, offering a 41-hour power reserve and a see-through case back that gives wearers a view of its mechanics. Each piece includes the brand’s quick-change strap system, allowing for effortless versatility between a metal bracelet and a black rubber strap.

According to Lukas Bühlmann, Oris’s head of design, the aim was to encapsulate the joy and creativity of the 1960s. The result is a timepiece that not only honours its heritage but also appeals to modern sensibilities, making it a reliable companion for today’s adventurers.
