Celebrating A Creative Heritage

French luxury jeweller Cartier reimagines the art of evening elegance with a capsule of four limited-edition jewellery bags that blend refined functionality with the Maison’s storied craftsmanship.

The ultimate in chic, these miniature creations recapture the spirit of the precious accessories of the Roaring Twenties, the practical, refined vanity cases that would entice the Maison’s great customers.

Produced in limited editions, these exceptional accessories adorned with fine stones celebrate the Maison’s creative heritage. From flora to geometry, from goldwork to colour combinations, each one subtly revisits Cartier’s style through a contemporary interpretation.

The preciousness of these little evening bags starts with their shape: cylinder, sphere or cushion. They join the Maison’s repertoire with clasps set with cabochons of onyx, hessonite garnet, or obsidian and open onto a suede calfskin interior with compartments.

In terms of materials, Cartier has chosen a crochet knit to evoke the Cactus collection, a velvet-effect satin to bring out a floral motif, and calf skin punctuated with amethyst, hessonite garnet or green onyx cabochons. These adorable pieces of evening jewellery can be carried in the hand or over the shoulder on a chain.

Made in the Maison’s workshops, these mini-bags feature a wealth of expertise. The gem cutter chose the cabochon-cut gemstones from the Maison’s own collections. The metal hoops and clasps are finished in several layers of gold, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship.

The same is true of the tufted motifs of black flowers on deep green satin, which require a high degree of technical skill, cutting the loops of embroidery one by one to produce a velvet-effect feel, like the cactus ball in mesh, which took more than seven hours to make.
