Valérie is always faithful to her instinct to find a personality and figure that best represents the Messika woman. “I wanted to illustrate a subtle alliance between grace and strength and capture an image of an alpha woman with a mysterious and hypnotic aura; Kendall perfectly embodied that for me,” says Valérie.
The model is one of the most sought after faces across the most cuttingedge catwalks. Dubbed as the ‘fashion icon of the decade’ in 2017, Kendall remains in demand by all the leading fashion houses. In her element with Messika jewellery, which she wears both for runway shows as well as in her private life, the model embodies the Messika woman through her effortless sensibilities, her unadulterated freedom, and her modernity. “I am very happy to have been chosen by Messika for its new campaign. Its jewellery has always reminded me of Paris, one of my favourite cities. During the shoot, I was able to see so many beautiful pieces, which gave me a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship of the house that goes into even the smallest earring,” affirms Kendall.
The campaign was shot by the Australian photographer Chris Colls, who combines the aesthetics of a fashion photograph with moving elements for a multi-degree approach. Multiple jewels stacked across the fingers, wrists, decolletage and neck dance in sunlight reflections and give rhythm to the looks. The photographs merge Kendall with the natural infinity effect of the landscape, and it captures the immensity of the sea joining the sky – a manifesto of freedom. Whatever her choice, her attitude reflects her brilliance.
