For almost 20 years, Guerlain has forged a special relationship with the orchid, which embodies eternal beauty and has been the centre of exceptional skincare formulas. However, for the first time, Guerlain has taken inspiration from the colours of this stunning plant to create a makeup collection – a fresh and sensual composition, like petals in bloom.
Above all, Red Orchid is an ode to the colour red, its power and endless hues. “I imagined a range of red tones to celebrate the colours of the orchid, this highly symbolic flower beloved by the House of Guerlain,” says Violette, Guerlain Make-up Creative Director.
VIVID LIPS
Three varieties of red orchids have inspired the new trio of ROUGE G shades with three different finishes. Red Vanda comes with a velvet matte finish in striking red for voluptuous and graphic lips. Red Ballerina has a satin finish in pinky red hues evoking the silky skirt of a ballerina for sensual lips. And Red Fire Star with a velvet metal metallic finish is an orangy shade, a new vibrant red brick tone.
VIBRANT EYES
For this Red Orchid collection, Violette has imagined a harmony of four eyeshadows, which reveals its bold colours through two different finishes. A burgundy red and soft pink in a satin finish, which plays with the light, and a coppery red and a metallic version of the luminous golden eyeshadow to enhance the eyes with intense shades and subtle sparkle.
LUMINOUS COMPLEXION
To complete the Red Orchid look, the iconic Parure Gold Cushion revisits its best-selling Beige 00N shade encased in a golden container celebrating the Red Vanda orchid on top. Infused with 24-carat gold and pearls, this precious formula illuminates the skin with radiance – a lustrous matte finish for a delicately enhanced complexion.
